BOM Workshop I
Beginning quilting skills and “sit and sew”

In this workshop we will brush
up on our beginning quilting skills to learn how to make the 9-Patch quilt
block. You may make your block into a 9” potholder or make additional
blocks as part of a wall hanging, table runner, or quilt. Additional
patterns will be available for those wishing to make a more involved 9 patch
block.
SUPPLY LIST
Sewing machine, attachments,
and instruction book, bobbins
(A ¼” foot and a walking foot
are very helpful)
Machine needles, pins, safety
pins
Scissors, rotary cutter (with
sharp blade), cutting mat, rulers
Seam ripper, stiletto or
skewer
Cotton thread to match or
contrast with your fabric
Enough fabric to complete your
project (scraps, fat quarters, yardage)
Batting (For the potholder,
three 10” squares of Insul-Bright)
Extension cord or power strip
Sack lunch and drink (or you
can run out and buy lunch)
Optional: basting spray,
iron, ironing mat, spray starch, lamp
Put your name on your
equipment and don’t forget your glasses!

for use of the facility is requested.
